Fully welded ball valves: energy transmission and gas heating

Recently, the Jinbin workshop has completed a batch of orders for fully welded ball valves. The fully welded ball valve adopts an integrated welded structure. The valve body is formed by welding two hemispheres. The internal core component is a ball with a circular through hole, which is connected to the external actuator through the valve stem. When in operation, the ball valve flange stem is driven to rotate through a handle, gearbox or electric/pneumatic device.

The advantages of using fully welded ball valve industry:

1. Reliable structure and strong sealing performance

The overall welding process eliminates the leakage risks of traditional flange connections and is suitable for harsh working conditions such as high pressure, flammable and explosive (for example, the pressure of natural gas pipelines can reach over 10MPa). The sealing material is wear-resistant and has a service life of over 10 years, reducing the frequency of maintenance.

2. Low flow resistance and full passage

The spherical through hole is consistent with the inner diameter of the pipe, and the flow resistance of the medium is only 1/10 of that of the pipe of the same length, reducing energy consumption. It is especially suitable for high-flow transportation (for example, the pipe diameter of the crude oil pipeline can reach 1200mm).

3. Corrosion-resistant and adaptable to harsh environments

The stainless ball valve body is coated with stainless steel or carbon steel anti-corrosion coating (such as epoxy resin), which can resist soil corrosion and seawater erosion, and is suitable for complex scenarios such as underground and underwater.

4. Easy to operate and low maintenance cost

Rotating 90° can complete the opening and closing. Combined with the automatic control system, remote control can be achieved. Welded structures reduce moving parts, have a low failure rate, and the maintenance cycle can be extended to more than five years.

The specific application scenarios of fully welded motorized ball valve:

Long-distance pipeline system

Natural gas transmission – used in onshore natural gas trunk lines (such as the West-East Gas Pipeline) and submarine gas transmission pipelines, it can withstand high pressure and ensure long-term sealing to prevent safety accidents caused by natural gas leakage.

Crude oil/refined oil transportation – Controlling the flow direction of the medium in cross-border oil pipelines, the full-bore design reduces oil retention and pressure drop, and improves transportation efficiency.

2. Urban gas and heating pipe networks

It is buried and installed in the main urban gas pipeline to deal with soil settlement and temperature difference changes and reduce the risk of leakage. Control the hot water flow in the centralized heating system, and withstand high pressure (1.6MPa) and high temperature (120℃).

3. Industrial field

Chemical industry: Transporting corrosive media such as strong acids and strong alkalis. Stainless steel materials and metal hard sealing structures ensure safety (such as hydrochloric acid and caustic soda pipelines).

Metallurgy and power: It can quickly cut off the gas flow in blast furnace gas pipelines or regulate the flow rate in cooling water pipelines of thermal power plants, adapting to high-temperature (above 300℃) and dusty environments.

4. Marine Engineering and Ships

It is used in offshore platform oil pipelines and ship fuel systems, resistant to seawater corrosion and capable of withstanding ship vibrations, and complies with international standards such as API 6D.

The fully welded ball valve Pn16, with its high reliability, low maintenance cost and wide adaptability to working conditions, has become a core control component in energy transmission, industrial processes and infrastructure construction, especially irreplaceable in large pipeline systems that require long-term stable operation.
